Linda Redman LMT, CLT, CMLDT, MMP
A graduate of the Baltimore School of Massage, I am a massage therapist licensed in the state of Maryland. I have specialty training in Oncology Massage and I am also certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and Decongestive Therapy from the Vodder Institute. I am a member of the Society of Oncology Massage (S4OM) and the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB).
Currently I am honored to be working with the Zaching Against Cancer Foundation. Through this organization, I am able to offer hand, foot and shoulder massages, free of charge, to patients who are undergoing chemo treatments. These services are also available to the caregiver. Hand, foot and shoulder massages help calm the body and stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for the rest & digest function of the body.
I made the decision to pursue Oncology Massage after my Dad passed away from lung cancer. I felt helpless to ease his pain. I've witnessed first hand the emotional and physical benefits of therapeutic oncology massage for people living with Cancer or coping with the after effects of radiation, chemotherapy and medications. I have laughed and cried with the wonderful people in my care. I am grateful to have the honor and pleasure to work with them.
For some people its about being touched with care and not poking them with a needle or burning them with radiation. Just the caring touch itself allows them to release feelings they aren't able to share with others. With Swedish and Deep Tissue massage, reducing stress and stimulating the immune system is always a plus.
Through my therapeutic massage services, I hope to provide comfort and well being to cancer patients. I also hope to give caregivers and other individuals a way to release stress and tension through traditional massage.
